Karl joined the AGE Africa team as a Development and Marketing Assistant based in Blantyre. He joins the Blantyre team after assisting AGE Africa’s Washington, D.C. office as a Development and Communications Volunteer starting in 2015. He recently received his B.A. in International Studies from American University focusing on International Development in Sub-Saharan Africa. Karl is a co-karllaubacherfounder of American University chapter of Nourish International, serving as its International Projects Director to develop its first partnership in Peru. He also led and participated on an American University Alternative Break Program to Myanmar (Burma), focusing on education in relationship to democracy.

Prior to American, Karl completed the Thinking Beyond Borders Global Gap Year Program where he studied international development issues in Ecuador, China, India, and South Africa. He found his passion for international development work in high school while volunteering at Foods Resource Bank in Western Springs, Illinois.
